Community alleges land grabbing by Ambode’s aides, seeks intervention

Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has been advised to stop some of his aides who wrongly using his name to grab lands.
The call was made by a community leader in Sada village, Epe.
Chief Mufutau Ogunniyi, while narrating his experience about such
Incidents.
He alleged that about five hectares of land were grabbed by one of the governor’s aides( names not given) in the village.
He stated that a paper to that effect was demanded from the aide, which
he could not provide, but used the support of unknown armed policemen to
move tractors into the land and demolished all structures on it.
Ogunniyi, who is also the chairman of the community development
association in Sala village, called on Ambode to
investigate the matter before the aide would put his name into
disrepute.
The community leader also explained that the villagers had written
petition to the state task force on Land Grabbing, but were yet to get any response from them.
He further alleged that from information gathered from neighbouring communities, the
aides at times also used the name of the governor’s wife , Mrs. Bolanle Ambode to do illegal land deal.
According to him, the people of Sala have resolved to defend
themselves from such insult; and they are ready to resist any further
illegal grabbing of their land with force.
