Commotion in Zaria as mobile policeman opens fire on passersby
A mobile policeman attached to one of the banks in Zaria at about 11:05 this morning opened fire on passersby at the PZ area of the city.
A witness told Daily Trust the mobile policeman had verbal exchanges with a soldier, “and he just moved into the main road to start shooting sporadically.”
The witness went on: “Some people thought that it was armed robbery, but it was not. I saw the two security personnel exchanging words before the mobile policeman started shooting.”
Both spokespersons of the police and the Army couldn’t be reached immediately.
But an eye witness in the city reports seeing vans of Operation Yaki, Kaduna state special security outfit, moving to the scene
