Commissioner slumps at Gov. Dickson’s pre-anniversary function

Bayelsa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Fred Obua, on Tuesday slumped at the venue of the ongoing inter-ministerial briefing to mark the 6th anniversary of Governor Seriake Dickson in office.
The anniversary proper is on 14 February, 2018.
The Commissioner, who was to make a presentation, suddenly slumped and was immediately rushed out of the venue at Cultural Centre, Yenagoa to an undisclosed private clinic.
As inquisitive journalists wanted to get more information on what transpired, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson told them that Obua could not wait due to his health challenge.
“What do you want me to say, the man was rushed out because he has health challenge; he cannot wait for the presentation.

“He was to present but due to his health, he was rushed out.
“I don’t want this matter to be published and anyone, who writes the story, will be dealt with,” the Commissioner threatened.
Following the development, out of the two Ministries scheduled to make presentation on Tuesday, only Commissioner for Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Ibegi briefed.
In his presentation, Ibegi said that the present administration had performed creditably in terms of rural-urban development.
According to him, the sitting of health centres in the rural communities was a milestone in the history of the state adding that the focus for 2018 was to ensure adequate peace and infrastructural development in the communities.
