The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), at the weekend called on the federal government to put an end to the said illegal migration of unknown persons into the country.

The President of COCIN, Rev. Dachollom Datiri made the call in a communique issued at the end of its 93rd General Church Council 2017 held at the COCIN Headquarters in Jos.

Rev. Datiri made the call against the back drop of incessant attacks in Plateau State recently, credited to unknown gunmen.
He said, “we condemn in strong terms the incessant attack on communities in Plateau State, always credited to unknown gunmen, despite the presence of security operatives.”

The COCIN president also said that the recent attacks in the State is also increasing the number of internally displaced person, adding that the State government should put facilities in place to resettle them.

“We call on the State government to put in place facilities that will resettle the IDPs back to their ancestral communities and farmlands”.

The communique also contained that the Church maintained its stand on ban on open grazing, calling on the Plateau State government, particularly the State Assembly to align with Taraba and Benue States, by enacting the “no open grazing law”, as communities are being constantly attacked by Fulani herdsmen who constantly graze into peoples farm land.
