The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) and 2019 presidential aspirant and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Charles Udeogaranya have congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over a successful convention and election of its national officers.

The CNPP, which is the umbrella body of all registered political parties and political associations in Nigeria, described the emergence of Uche Secondus as a good omen for the opposition party.

According to a statement signed by the CNPP Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the Convention was a victory for democracy.
“Uche Secondus is a political warrior, an articulate politician raised from a turbulent political school.

“He has been tested and proven to have the requisite experience to drive the party having been there for a while.

“Beyond expectations, the Nigerian political landscape is expanding and democracy has been deepened. That is our joy.

“We, therefore, congratute the Peoples Democratic Party for the successes recorded at its elective Convention in Abuja on Saturday.

“We urge other political parties to emulate the rancour-free convention held by the PDP as politics is not a do or die affair”, the CNPP noted.

Also congratulating the PDP, Udeogaranya said “As a progressive democrat and in the good spirit of sportsmanship, I would like to congratulate the PDP for a successful convention that have positioned PDP for an easy defeat by my candidacy.

“I urge my national chairman to urgently begin a process of wooing the South-West PDP leaders and members who lost out at the PDP convention to our great party, the APC.

We must not forget that election is and remains a game of numbers and everyone is important.

“What now stands between me and 2019 presidential election victory, is clinching the APC presidential ticket and I have placed my faith and trust in God to grant me the grace necessary to achieve victory during the party’s presidential primary election,

so that I can serve Nigeria, like no other president has ever done by eradicating hunger and turn Nigeria into a major producing nation of all wares in the world,” he said.
