Fr. Fogos said the Lenten season remains the most trial time for every Christian, hence the need for them to obey the tenets of God and maintain godly lifestyles.

“Today, being the first Sunday of lent, I want to urge Christians to use the season to desist from disobedience to God. Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden; they allowed the devil to use them to go against God’s simple instruction.

“Today, the devil that deceived Adam and Eve is still much available with us, making us to disobey God in our day-to-day dealings.

“So, dear friends in Christ, the Lenten season is an opportunity for us to turn away from our evil ways and return to God; a great opportunity for us to abide by God’s tenets.

“Mind you, we can only obey God by overcoming the temptation of Satan, and we can only renounce the devil through constant and fervent prayer,” he advised

The cleric also called on Christians to emulate the obedient life of Jesus, urging that Christians must stand out in all dealings to enable non -believers learn from them.
