Clergy tasks Buhari on insecurity, corruption

 

The Head pastor of the Baptist church of the Nigeria Rev. Dr. Sampson Ayoknule has tasked the President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari on the fight against corruption and Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

Speaking in Owerri at the weekend during the annual church convention. Rev. Ayokunle said annual convention was organized to tackle some salient issues concerning the church and stop arising corrupt issues that may endanger the growth of the church and expose those behind it. He described it as a season of grace, period to pray together as one body in the name of Christ and win souls.

Rev Ayokunle who is also the National Vice President “Christian Association of Nigeria” (CAN) said denomination has touched human lives in different ways, particularly human capacity building in its kind to establish Baptist Academy of Nigeria in Obanikoro Lagos.

“We have been preaching for peace of the Nation especially on the just concluded election, calling on the electoral umpire to conduct free, fair credible election for the co-existence of peace in the country”

The clergy stated that corruption was a dangerous canker worm that must be stamp out by the incoming administration to achieve much and increase better economy of the country.
He suggested to the newly elected government should inject new breed blood politicians as job seekers and dropped old ones out of government who had been recycled since inception of democracy in the country.
