CJ orders resumption of courts

Delta State Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Marshal Umukoro, has directed the resumption of sitting of High Courts No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the Asaba Judicial Division at High Court Complex, Ibusa Road, Asaba.

The Order of the Chief Judge stated that the courts, which were temporarily relocated to the High Court Complex Ibusa in the Asaba Capital territory due to the burning down of the Complex by hoodlums during the EndSARS protest shall resume sitting on Monday, February 15, 2021 at the renovated High Court Complex, Ibusa Road, Asaba.

It urged legal practitioners, litigants and the public to take note of the development, and to cooperate with the affected courts for speedy dispensation of justice.

On the 22nd of October, 2020 hoodlums masquerading as #EndSARS protesters hijacked the protest and razed the building warehousing High Courts No. 2, 3, 4 and 5, at Ibusa Road, Asaba.

The arson occasioned wanton destruction of case files, exhibits, record books and other valuable documents. .
