Chuba Akpom joins Lille on loan from Ajax

Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom has completed a loan move to French Ligue 1 side Lille from Eredivisie club Ajax.

Lille, also known as Les Dogues, have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season. The 29-year-old striker was officially unveiled by the former Ligue 1 champions on Sunday.

Akpom moved to Ajax in 2023 from English Championship side Middlesbrough. He has been in strong form this season, scoring eight goals in the Eredivisie and adding four more in the UEFA Europa League.

Lille will hope Akpom’s goal-scoring prowess strengthens their attack as they push for domestic and European success.
