Christian, Muslim teenagers task on coexistence
Christian and Muslim teenagers, drawn from four secondary schools in Plateau State, were on Wednesday tasked to coexist, and leave behind the accumulated hate that has hitherto bedevilled their relationship, which has led to incessant bullying among the two dominant religions.
This charge was made by a Non-governmental organisation (NGO), otherwise known as King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID).
Speaking in a forum where the children were brought together, one of the facilitators, Mrs Justina Mike Ngwobia, said the aim is to engage and promote young girls and boys as positive agents of conflict transformation.
She said, “Our aim is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of young girls and boys in transformative peace building and conflict resolution with the objective to promote the inclusion and active participation of girls and boys in championing peace process in their communities”.
