CHAN Eagles star Emeka Atuloma set to join Akwa United

Emeka Atuloma is expected to complete his transfer to Akwa United tomorrow, according to a report.Atuloma, a defensive midfielder, featured for the CHAN Eagles at this year’s Championship of African Nations in Morocco, where Nigeria lost to the host country in the final.

Atuloma was sought after by a host of European teams, but fitness concerns scuttled the move when it eventually came.

Having seen off a year’s contract extension at Rivers United after an initial two-year run, Atuloma thought it was time to move, his handlers said.

“We have almost completed everything concerning the transfer”, his agent Chimaobi Atuloma said.

“The unveiling of coach Rafael Everton on Monday ensured we moved conclusion of transfer formalities to Wednesday.

“Uyo is a good environment for him, we strongly believe he will add quality to the team.”
