Catholic bishops commend Obano’s giant strides as 2nd synod of the Awka diocese opens

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Catholic diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor has called for the sustenance of the Obiano administration to consolidate his achievements in the state.
Bishop Ezeokafor who declared open the second synod of the Awka Catholic diocese at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Awka during a mass celebration expressed delight that the Obiano administration has made significant impact in governance and should therefore be supported to actualize his vision for the state.
The prelate urged the people to disregard calls for election boycott by some people but to participate actively in the November 18th governorship election for full democratization process to be sustained.
He urged delegates to the synod to be above board in contributing meaningfully to the success of the exercise.
In a remark, the Catholic Bishop of Okigiwe Diocese most Reverend Solomon Amatu urged the electorate to arm themselves with their voters’ cards to participate actively in the election.
Bishop Amatu enjoined them to look well before they leap before casting their voters in response to some calls by some politicians for change.
The prelate charged the synod delegates to see their nomination as a call to make some meaningful impact in the spiritual growth of the diocese.
Speaking during the occasion, governor Obiano promised to do more for the state if reelected for a second term in office.
According to the governor, his governorship assignment is like an apostolate to take ndi Anambra from Egypt to the land of canaan which will come to fruition in his next tenure when his achievements would have been consolidated.
He said the success of his administration is anchored on three indices, first his key enabler security, the payment of workers’ salaries and Agriculture which has catapulted the state to an exporter of yam.
The governor promised to create more jobs for the youths in his second tenure, complete the Umueri airport project in three years, and to sustain his success in the security of lives and property.
