CAN Berates El-Rufai On Kaduna Killings, Insists Killing Targeted At Christians
The Christian Association of Nigeria Youth Wing (YOWICAN), said that the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, is misguided on the incessant unfortunate killings that has hitherto rocked Christians in their ancestral home of Southern Kaduna.
YOWICAN President, Engr Daniel David Kadzai stated this on Monday, in a statement, while responding to El-Rufai’s comment faulting CAN National President, Rev Supo Ayokunle, who described the attacks as “religious cleansing” by Fulani herdsmen.
El-Rufai, had said that the killings in Southern Kaduna by suspected herdsmen is pure criminality and has nothing to do with ethnicity and religion.
Kadzai however said that the Christian Youths are solidly behind the CAN President after holding meeting with the leaders of Southern Kaduna Christians in Abuja, adding that the Kaduna Governor should have sort the collaboration of CAN in ending the senseless killings instead of faulting CAN’s Presidents statement and attributing the killings to hoodlums whom invaded Southern Kaduna from Chad, Cameroon and Benin Republic.
“Whether the Fulani terrorists are from Nigeria or not, the Christian Youths has agreed that there is deliberate and calculated cleansing of Christians in Nigeria; thus, we call on all Christians to resist this devilish attempt”, the CAN youth President said.
Kadzai also faults the initiative by El-Rufai to compensate Fulani herdsmen for their lost of castle as well as sponsoring delegates to meet Fulani leaders outside Nigeria, saying that is an insult to the families of slain Christians whom died by the machetes of the same herdsmen.
His words , “It is the highest point of insensitivity to use state fund to pay aggressors/terrorists at the expense of the families of Christian slain victims.
“In view of El-Rufai’s assertions that the Fulani terrorists are foreigners, we call on the Federal government to close the Northern Nigerian borders between Chad, Cameroon and Benin Republic without delay”.
He added that the Kaduna State House of Assembly, must immediately impeach El-Rufai for conniving with terrorists to kill Nigerian Christians.
The CAN Youth President call on the Kaduna State Governor, to respect the CAN President and know that Christians have the right to self defense, especially where there is complacency on the part of security operatives, he said.
