Bulus qualifies for ITF U-18 Circuit final

Christopher Bulus of Nigeria shocked second seed, Delmas N’tcha of Benin 6-4, 6-3 to qualify for the final of the ITF U18 Circuit which will end this weekend in Lome, Togo.

The win ensured Bulus, the world no 621, took his pound of flesh on N’tcha who triumphed when both players met at the same stage in the latter’s home country where the three-leg tournament served off about three weeks ago.

Third-seeded Bulus, 16, was a finalist in the point-earning event last week succumbing to a denting 0-6, 1-6 defeat to Eliakim Coulibaly of Cote d’Ivoire and will now face N’tcha’s compatriot Sylvestre Monnou; the number six seed bagged a 6-4, 7-5 win over India’s Aman Patel.

The 2017 CBN Open quarter finalist would be hoping to be third time lucky having ended as runner up last week and in April where on both occasions, Coulibaly stood between him and glory.

The Aces Tennis Academy of Lagos player is also in the final of the doubles where he will be partnering Darrshan Suresh of Malaysia to battle French duo of Hugo Jarden and Raphael Perot.

Bulus is quite familiar with the French opposition having beaten them both at different stages of the tournament in the singles.
