Buhari’s Victory, Reward for Selfless Service, Consistency – Osinkolu
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Mr Segun Osinnkolu has described the victory of the president-elect, Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari as an eye-opener to Nigerian leaders that selfless service is rewarding .
Osinkolu declared that the victory would certainly correct the erroneous impression in the polity that an incumbent President cannot be defeated in a country like Nigeria.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Osinkolu said Buhari’s victory was as a result of the impressive and enviable records he left behind , as one of the most incorruptible leader during his reign as the country’s Military Head of State.
Osinkolu saluted Buhari’s doggedness in the face of stumbling blocks on his journey to presidency, saying the trait will serve as impetus to the younger generation on the need to build a culture of resilience and selfless service to humanity.
He also praised President Goodluck Jonathan for displaying uncommon statesmanship by conceding defeat and ward off violence that would have engulfed the country, this he said would certainly help in redirecting the psyche of some of the leaders who use every means to retain power.
The APC Chieftain praised the architects of Merger of the four political parties, which gave rise to the consummation of APC, saying their selfless service in ensuring that the Nigeria’s democracy is salvaged from the brink of ruin would remain indelible in history.
He enjoined Nigerians to rally support for the President-elect , for him to be able to deliver on his electioneering promises to the people, to reduce the pervasive poverty in the land.
