The All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Chapter has described the home-coming of President Muhammadu Buhari last Saturday after 103 days medical vacation in London as divine and expressed its sympathy for all those who engaged in hate speeches while the President was away.
The party stated this in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, and circulated by his Media Chief, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze on Monday in Port Harcourt.
The APC particularly fingered Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, and Femi Fani-Kayode, one-time Minister of Aviation as those who promoted all manners of hate speech against the President and hoped that they would seek God’s forgiveness and apologise to Nigerians.
The statement read: “Buhari’s home-coming is answer to the fervent prayers of Nigerians for an innocent man whose drive is to better the lots of all Nigerians. The Party thanked all Nigerians for their faith and love for our dear President and sympathises with Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and all those who promoted all manners of hate speeches against an innocent man whose only sin was that he wants to retrieve all the public funds those in PDP looted with impunity.
“We sincerely thank God for proving himself as the God of the just by saving the life of our dear President contrary to the prayers and wishes of these misguided politicians who decided to play ‘god’ in the politics of our country. We hope that they will seek for forgiveness from God and apologise to Nigerians for their unholy acts. Our sympathy mainly goes to Gov Wike who has to rush to Abuja to plead to be allowed to be among the delegates that welcomed the President,” the APC said.
According to the APC, with the home coming of President Buhari all those who thought that he would not come back “so that their looted funds will be kept safe or swept under the carpet will now have a rethink because one way or the other the Government will ensure that all the looted funds which is the main reason behind the unwarranted tension and agitations across the country will be retrieved.
“Now that the President is back hale and hearty, we expect Wike, Fayose, Kayode and the “Our Mumu Don Do” movement to turn the focus of their campaign for Mrs Deziani and all the PDP chieftains that looted our common patrimony with impunity to return our money so that we can reinvest such funds into our economy and provide employment for our teeming unemployed graduates.
The party said that the group could as well embark upon a campaign against governors who allegedly ran their states without budgets, spent public resources sponsoring their cohorts to watch football matches in Europe, those states that have not conducted LGA elections and those that allegedly stole bailout funds and refused to pay our hapless civil servants their salaries and pensions.
The party noted with gladness the President’s broadcast Monday morning which, it said, had assured Nigerians that they were then free to live and do business in any part of the country without any molestation or threat and, therefore, pleaded with all Nigerians to give the Buhari-led government time and an enabling environment to operate so that it could fulfill all its electoral promises to Nigerians.
