Buhari and his three Aishas

There are currently three (3) Aishas in President Buhari’s life. This is what a stroke of fate has bestowed on him. What some people may tomorrow call accident of history. They are:
. Mrs. Aisha Buhari
. Mrs. Aisha Yesufu
. Mrs. Aisha Alhassan
The first Aisha is Buhari’s wife who has been allotted a duty both in the “living” and the “other room”.
The second Aisha (Yesufu) is the co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group. This is the group that turned on the heat on former President GoodLuck Jonathan after the infamous abduction of Chibok Girls in 2014.
It in turn provided a part crest upon which Buhari’s popularity soared toward 2015 election.
The third Aisha (Alhassan) is the current Minister of women Affairs and Youth development. She is currently in the news for what has quick come to be known as “Aisha’s declaration”. In my earlier write up, I titled it “Aisha’s Bitter Truth”.
What the three have in common apart from the name is that, they have all at different times, hit Buhari below the belt.
The first Aisha exploded in a no-hold-bared manner, when she last year said that things had fallen apart in her husband’s government.
She confessed that, those that actually worked for the success of her husband in 2015 election had been sidelined while a cabal had hijacked the government.
In a euphemistic description of the cabals she had later tagged them “Jackals and Hyenas”, who would be weeded out by her husband to ensure the survival of the “weaker animals”.
The difference between this Aisha and the other two seems to lie in the passion and urge for her husband to succeed.
The second Aisha became like the Biblical Israelite at the foot of Mount Sinai. They lost faith in God and the leadership of Moses.
As Moses delayed coming down from the Mount, they became impatient, asking Aaron to create another god for them. Aisha equally became impatient with the President when his stay in UK for medical vacation became too long, sustained and uncertain.
She told the President to display his patriotism to the country by resigning his Presidency rather than holding down the country as things were not working according to her.
She would have remembered that her co-convener – Hadiza Bala Usman was enjoying the bliss of NPA while she was left at Abuja fountain at the mercy of the sun and rain.
The third Aisha is currently in the eyes of the storm as her “declaration” which went viral last weekend has attracted both friends and foes, within and outside APC, within and outside Buhari government, toward her.
While paying Salah homage to the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Aisha in a nutshell had said that even though she was presently wining and dining with President Buhari, her ultimate loyalty lied with Atiku.
This she confirmed while fielding questions from Reuters. In my earlier write up, I had said that though she may be termed courageous, she was surely not patriotic.
It was one truth Aisha needed not say and still remains a Minister. By so doing, Aisha could be likened to that bird in a novel “The beautiful ones are not yet born” which hate human excrement but rather feeds on maggots that feed on the same excrement.
That is what the third Aisha seems to portray.
On the whole, it is hoped that Buhari will not have another Aisha in the fold as the existing ones are more than a mouthful and enough to last him till 2019. Keep weathering the storm Mr President.
