Buhari’ not fair to Nigerian youths –Okorocha
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state Wednesday said that the Federal Government under President Mohammadu Buhari, has not been fair to the youths of the country, this he claimed led to the current high level of unemployment in the country.
Okorocha who at a one-day youth forum, organized by the National Orientation Agency, NOA, and the Imo State government in Owerri, stated that the federal government had not provided a clear format of what could be done to sustain the growth of the youths.
Represented by his Senior Special Adviser, SSA, on Youth Affairs, Mr. Kenneth Emelu, “We need a clear format of what the Nigerian government can do to sustain the growth of the youths.
“The youths are not happy about what is happening in Nigeria. The treatment that is being given to our youths, the youths are saying that they are not being carried along in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
“The youths are saying that there is no welfare for the youths of Nigeria. No cabinet member at the federal level is a youth. What I’m saying is that NIgerian youths need information for empowerment.

In his address earlier, the Director-Generalof the National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari noted that the state government had not done enough to synergise with the federal government to attract the various social investment windows available at the federal level.
Dr. Abari stated that if Imo State governemnt wants empowerment for its youths, “there is need for Imo state government and the federal government to synergise to give youths empowerment and I can tell you without that there will continue to be grumblings”.
He stated that the Igbo youths were involved in enterpreneuship, education and mentorship and urged the youths to hold on to the qualities as according to him, that had distinguished the Igbos.
The NOA DG explained that the forum was held in the state to underscore the need for the country to develop, inspire, harness and nurture its manpower even at private levels, because when the manpower is developed, the youths would be the greatest beneficiary.
He stated that Nigeria as a nation has a lot to offer, but that could only be possible if the youths had the right attitude towards the unity of the country stressing that Nigeria, is a big market that could never be ignored by the international community.
