Buhari: Nigerians Have Always Wanted Change – Says Edo Dep Speaker
The Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Victor Edoror, has stated that the people hold political power in the new dispensation as their votes, based on the innovations brought into the electoral process, by the national chairman of the Independent National Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega.
According to Edoror: “The electorates now hold power. All elected office holders must give a scorecard of their time in office. That is the new order in the country.”
He commended Jega for the improvement he has brought into the electoral process via the card reader and the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“There is an improvement in the electoral process. Jega has written his name in gold with all the changes he has brought to bear in the electoral process. In no distant time, I see us going into electronic voting system, which will further make our election more credible,” he said.
He averred that Nigerians were now adapting to the card reader, which was problematic during the presidential poll on Saturday, March 28.
