Buhari is already restructuring Nigeria — APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the implementation of the report of the 2014 National Conference and the report of the Nasir El-Rufai-led APC committee on true federalism.
The congress has said despite frivolous notions given about its commitment to fulfilling its campaign promise of restructuring the country, the implementation was enough proof that restructuring has begun.

Daily Times Nigeria gathered this was made known in the September edition of the in-house monthly magazine of the APC, The Progressives.
Recall, the 2014 National Conference inaugurated by the former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on March 17, 2014, in Abuja deliberated on challenges surrounding the country, which included, resource control, derivation principle, Land Use Act, creation of 18 states, national security among others.
While the report of the Nasir El-Rufai-led APC committee on true federalism set up in August 2017 gave recommendations ranging from resource control, making local government an affair of states, a constitutional amendment to allow the merger of states, state police, to state court of appeal and independent candidacy.
Meanwhile, in the assessment of the e-copy of the magazine on Monday, a piece titled, ‘Calm Down! Restructuring has begun’, said President Buhari has implemented recommendations including poverty reduction and social inclusion as well as economic diversification.
It also stated that successive administrations had wasted billions of taxpayers’ money to hold national conferences with the reports and recommendations of such conferences not implemented.
In addition, the publication said, unlike previous attempts that yielded little or nothing, Buhari has taken steps to implement a part of the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference as well as those of the 2017 Governor Nasir El-Rufai-chaired APC committee on True Federalism, which came out with far-reaching recommendations.
“With these aforementioned fundamental reforms being introduced into the nation’s polity already in place, and with many more still in the pipeline, Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari is on the path of an irreversible political and economic rejuvenation. To the advocates of restructuring, calm down, the exercise has begun in earnest.” The publication added.
