Buckle up, Ekiti Head of Service Tells Workers

The Head of Service of Ekiti State, Dr. Olugbenga Faseluka has charged workers in the State Public Service to redouble their efforts at delivering quality service to the people of the State in 2018.
The Head of Service who gave the charge during a meeting with medical personnel in the Local Government, senior staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Lands and Housing stated that the state government would not tolerate indolence, absenteeism and unprofessional acts.
Dr. Faseluka who frowned on the approval for the construction of filling stations and telecommunications masts near residential areas despite the hazards that they pose to the human health called on officers of the Ministry of Lands to exercise their “authority with due diligence”.
He urged the officers to use their experiences and trainings for further physical development of the State.
“We are here because we are not doing certain things properly and government is no longer willing to tolerate this. You have to be up and doing in your area of core responsibilities”, he said.
While speaking with medical personnel in primary health facilities, the Head of Service harped on the need for a responsive and efficient health system with international best practices; saying that there is need for a change of attitude among workers.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and Housing, Mr. Ibitoye Adeyiola said the Ministry would not approve request for siting a filling station or telecom mast unless the Environmental Impact Assessment report by the Ministry of Environment is provided.
He assured that the Ministry would be more alive to its responsibilities in the new year.
