BREAKING: Pastor Adeboye Decries Twitter Ban, Says Action Covered Against Universal Declaration On Human Rights

Despite the Nigerian government’s prohibition on Twitter, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has tweeted.

Adeboye, who defied the prohibition on Monday, said that tweeting is in line with Article 19 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

He tweeted, “The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 Nations & Territories. The tweets here are in accordance to Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights.”

Last Friday, the Nigerian government banned Twitter after the social media platform removed a contentious tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari in which he made a reference to the Nigerian Civil War, which many Nigerians found offensive.
