Breaking: Olonisakin, Buratai, others storm NASS for screening as Non – carrier Ambassadors

The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin, and former Service Chiefs; Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai, (Army), Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar (Air Force), Navy Admiral Ibok Ibas (Navy), all retired are presently before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs screening as Non – Career Ambassadors.
The Ambassador designated stormed the National Assembly in convoy of military vehicles and retinue of uniformed and plain cloth security operatives few minutes before 12 noon.
They all headed for the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legislative Matters ( Senate), Senator Babajide Omoworare, who eventually led them to the Committee room headed by Senator Mohammed Bulkachua at 12.30 pm shortly after a five minutes closed door meeting by members of the Committee.
Former Defence Chief, Gen. Olonisakin (rtd) was called upon to first appear before the screening panel.
Committee chairman, Sen. Bulkachua said the committee is simply mandated to screen the ambassador designated and report back to the Senate at plenary.
