Data obtained from the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) shows that load allocation to the 11 electricity distribution companies dropped to zero megawatts by 11am, indicating a complete shutdown of the grid.
The development marks another setback for the power sector, coming just days after a previous grid collapse that had only recently been stabilised.
