Breaking: Edo guber: Ize – Iyamu picks APC form, prefers direct primary

The race for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the  September 19 Edo State governorship election  kick off in style as Pastor Osagie Ize – Iyamu stormed the National Secretariat of the party Wednesday afternoon to obtain the Expression of Interest and Nomination form.

The former Secretary to Edo State goverment was accompanied by five aspirants who declared their support for his aspiration and contributed to the N22. 5m cost of form purchase.

He declined being supported by the APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu or President Muhammadu Buhari but said he will appreciate their backing after he might have emerged APC candidate.

Pastor Ize – Iyamu expressed his preference for direct form of primary for picking APC flag – bearer.

Edo state governorship election is slated for September 19, 2020.
