BREAKING: Deputy Speaker of Ogun State Assembly impeached

Dare Kadiri, the embattled Deputy Speaker of the Ogun Assembly, has been impeached for alleged “gross misconduct.”

He is the member representing Ijebu North State Constituency 2 in the State Assembly.

A petition calling for Kadiri’s resignation was signed by 22 lawmakers last week.

The plot to sack him thickened on Monday, according to reports from our reporters, when Speaker Kunle Oluomo formed an ad-hoc Committee to investigate the allegations against Kadiri.

“Gross misconduct” is one of the charges lodged against him.

He was supposed to answer to the Investigation Committee, which was chaired by Hon. Yusuff Sherrif, in writing.

He was impeached on Thursday morning during plenary, Dailytimes gathered.
