COVID-19: 56 years old Nigerian dies in Lagos

A 56 years old Nigerian male who recently returned from the United States has died of #COVID-19 related complication. This brings the total number of #COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos 6.

According to the Commissioner for Health of Lagos State. Professor Akin Abayomi on Tuesady

He said that the total number of COVID-19 patients that have recovered and discharged are now 61 but a 56 year old Nigerian; male who recently returned from the United States has died of #COVID19 related complication. This brings the total number of #COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos to 6.

He urged Lagos residents to remain alert across communities and obey instructions aimed at containing the spread of #COVID-19 infection.

Also on Monday the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said that the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country had risen to 343, following 20 confirmed new cases from five states.

The 20 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded from Lagos -13, Edo -2, Kano -2, Ogun -2 and Ondo -1.

Lagos remains the epicentre with 189, while FCT has 56 cases, 20 in Osun, 14 in Edo, 11 in Oyo, 11 in Bauchi and Kaduna.

Akwa Ibom 6, Kastina 5, Kwara 4, Ogun 9, Kano 3, 2 each in Enugu, Ekiti, Delta, Ondo and Rivers, and one each in Benue, Niger, and Anambra.
