Bomb Blast Kills Nine in Somalia

 

Islamist militants,Alshabaab, claimed responsibility for the bombing of nine United Nations workers in Garowe, Somalia on Monday,April 20.

The bomb was apparently planted under a seat in the bus conveying the workers and was detonated by remote control, killing Two Kenyans and seven Somali guards.

Eye witness said he heard a thundering blast inside the bus, which he said was passing near the offices of the UN’s food agency when the bomb went off. Human limbs were scattered around the scene of the attack, he said.

Security forces has since sealed off the area as ambulances carried the wounded from the scene of the blast.
