Bolaji Abdullahi: ADC coalition can end Nigerians’ suffering

Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC National Publicity Secretary, has reacted to the state of the nation by promising Nigerians that only the ADC coalition party can put an end to their suffering.
Speaking on Channels TV on Tuesday, Abdullahi bemoaned the activities of the political elites about their attitudes towards the suffering of Nigerian citizens.
The ADC national publicity secretary emphasized that the political elites, regardless of party affiliation, have lost the trust of Nigerians. Hence, the continuous apathy during elections.
“Why are we behaving in such a way that Nigerians are beginning to look at the political elite across the political divide and think that we don’t care about what they are going through?
“The only thing that matters to Nigerians now is how we are addressing the daily challenges that they face. How will the policies bring them closer to the respite that they expect from the current administration.
“What we seem not to have internalized sufficiently is that the political elite generally, regardless of party affiliation or orientation have lost the trust of the people,” he said.
Speaking further, Abdullah challenged all the political leaders and parties in the country to redeem their image in the mind of Nigerians, ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the ruling party has abandoned the primary purpose of being elected into power which is to govern but are instead interested in engaging in political throttle.
And as such, other parties have begun to adopt such means; ignoring the interest of the citizens while playing political games with the life of the people in insecurity-infested states.
“This opportunity we have is for redemption. But the way some parties and politicians are carrying on further reinforces the thinking of the people that politicians only care about politics.
“It is serious. It’s a matter of life and death. Will you go and meet the people being slaughtered in Zamafara or Katsina and tell them it’s all a game? It’s not. It’s about people’s survival.
“Everybody is taking a cue from the ruling party. The ruling party itself has abandoned governance and are in full political throttle,” he added.
Nevertheless, Bolaji Abdullahi projected the aims of the new coalition party, ADC, as a party willing to listen to the cries of Nigerians and not play political game with their future.
“Unlike what is going on in APC and PDP, in ADC, we are very clear about what brought us together. And we are not going to act like them. When it is right time, we will make our decision.
“What is more important to us is to convince Nigerians that we represent that alternative that can bring respite to their current suffering,” he concluded.
