Boko Haram:Police arrests Suspected Members of Boko Haram, kill two in Kano

Kano State Police Command on Sunday morning engaged in a gun duel with gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect at Gayawa town in the state.

According to police information, the command received a tip off that some members of Boko haram are occupying a building at Gayawa in Nasarawa local government Area after they left Sambisa Forest.

The development prompted the personnel of a special task force set up by the Inspector General of Police to move into action and on reaching the location, the suspects opened fire on the police men.

At the end of the gun duel, two gun men lost their lives while three of the suspects were arrested, as well as two women suspected to be wives of the suspects.

During the operation, explosions believed to be from explosive devices erupted in the building.

Confirming the story, the command public relations officer ASP Majia stated that the command’s two gallant officers who participated in the operation sustained injuries with one in a critical condition but are currently being taken care of at an undisclosed hospital.

He urged members of the public not to hesitate to report to the police or any security agency activities of suspected persons within their communities as the police is always ready to defend the states from activities of bad elements.
