Boko Haram Kills Scores In Open Fire in Borno State
Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have attacked the kwajeffa area of Borno state, burning down houses and brutally killing scores of people.
The Islamic militants opened fire on villagers and raised down a large number of buildings.
According to eyewitnesses, the insurgents came in large numbers of almost 2 dozens at dusk on Sunday and ordered residents to come out of their homes.
They reportedly started by preaching and villagers thought that they were going to preach and leave until the insurgents opened fire on the crowd.
The death toll cannot be immediately ascertained but some say it could be close to 50.
Kwajaffa sits in the southern part of Borno state, one of the regions that has been brutally hit by Boko Haram’s deadly six-year uprising.
On Friday, the Islamist militants ambushed people on their way to a market in Tchoukou Telia near Lake Chad .Some of the victims had their throats cut while others were shot.
