Boko Haram: ECWA declears 3 days fasting and prayer for abducted Leah Sharibu

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), has declared three days praying and fasting for the abducted Leah Sharibu who has refused to renounce her faith for Jesus Christ after being abducted by Boko Haram.
Recall that on February 19, 2018 at 5:30pm, about 110 school girls, aged 11–19 years old were kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorist group from the Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, located in Bulabulin, Yunusari Local Government area of Yobe State, in the northeast part of Nigeria.
Consequently, on the release of the girls after an alleged negotiation between the abductors (Boko Haram), and the Federal Government, five among the girls died with Leah Sharibu held back because of her faith in Christ.
However, in a communique issued at the end of the 65th ECWA General Church Council held in Jos, Friday, the outgoing President of ECWA, Rev. Jeremiah Gado, laud the dogged faith of Leah Sharibu and declare a 3-days fasting for her release.
Gado said, “the council particularly applauded Leah Sharibu for her dogged faith in identifying with Jesus Christ at the risk of her life and affirmed that the good Lord whom she has honoured is able to keep her safe from any harm and grant her freedom in due time.
“The Council praises Leah’s parents for instilling in their child the love of God and encourages them not to despair but keep trusting God for her miraculous deliverance from the hand of the terrorists in no distance time.
“To this end, ECWA has declared a 3-days fasting and prayer for the release of Leah Sharibu and for improve security/economic situation in Nigeria; the fasting and prayer will hold on April 27 to 29, 2018 and will be rounded up across all ECWA church services globally and we invite other Christians to join in this intercessory prayer, Gado said.
