Bishop Nwokolo Urges Nigerian Leaders To Create Conducive Encirclement For Nigerians
The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Onitsha, Anambra State, Rt. (Rev) Owen Nwokolo, has urged Nigerian leaders to provide conduicive atmosphere for Nigerians especially the youths to free their boundless energies.
Rev. Dr. Nwokolo, who made this call in his new year message, also challenged Nigerian leaders to make the country a happy place for the citizens to live, saying that Nigerian leaders were responsible for the death of Nigerian youths in Sahara desert and Atlantic Ocean as well as their enslavement in North African Countries especially Libya.
He said “Our leaders should make Nigeria a happy place to live. We are pushing our youths to slavery. Our leaders should create conducive environment for our young people.
Our schools should produce employable graduates. Our leaders should provide basic infrastructure. They should provide jobs for our youths”.
The Bishop lamented that the leadership at the federal level has for the past three years been fighting corruption and insecurity, but unfortunately, these vices are still with us, apparently because those who claimed that they were engaged in the fight were not sincere.
He also decried the persistent delay in the passage of budget and its poor implementation, which he said, has become part our national life.
“We ask our leaders to be prudent in the management of our resources. They should be transparency in fighting corruption. Our judiciary should stop endless court cases. Justice delayed is justice denied. We all should be conscientious in our work and duties. We should co-operate with our leaders to build our nation.”
Declaring the year 2018 a year of victory, Bishop Nwokolo, said God will bring our pains to pass even as we commit the year into God’s hands.
He said” God is the Lord of years. He is the Lord in ages past and the Lord in the years to come. Plan your years and God will bless your plans. God will bless it for you, direct your parts.
Plan ahead and with commitment, God will bring it to pass. It is a year of victory. God will bring our plans to pass. Commit all your years in God’s hands and he will see you through”.
