Bisexual Suspect In Custody To Face Prosecution As Police Declare Fleeing Partner Wanted

The Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police has declared wanted: Stephen Osaro Omere for gross violation of the Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act of 2014 after he was reportedly caught in the act with his partner Joseph Festus Okunbor in a remote hotel in Benin City.

A statement made available by the Command to journalists in Benin City, stated that on February 3rd 2022 two male suspects namely Joseph Festus Okunbor and Stephen Osaro Omere were caught in the act few minutes after checking in at a hotel in a remote location.

According to the statement, the two male suspects until February 3rd were regular visitors whose visit often attracted wild suspicion amongst others as it was said that they always ended together using one room.

Trouble however started for the two bisexual suspects when on February 3rd 2022 having checked into their regular room, the two male lovers who were obviously unaware that the lock on the main door was opened immediately after placing order for some refreshments from the bar, were all of a sudden interrupted by the room attendant who barged in with the refreshments and caught both males in complete nudity .

One of the bisexual suspects, Stephen Osaro Omere was said to have reportedly jumped on his feet and immediately fled through an exit back door in the hotel instantly leaving behind his partner who was immediately apprehended by a security guard on duty who was alerted by the room attendant.

The sacrilegious act between the two bisexual suspects, according to information made available, immediately attracted a mammoth crowd of angry mob in the community who hurriedly raced down to the hotel to catch a glimpse of the sacrilegious act.

After Joseph Festus Okunbor was ruthlessly beaten up, the management of the hotel was said to have reportedly managed to bring the ensuing chaos and tension generated by the act under control by calling in the police who immediately prevented a breakdown of law and order as it was said that the angry youths almost burnt down the hotel for not allowing them lynch the apprehended Joseph Festus Okunbor to death.

However, the timely arrival of the police brought the rising tension in the community down as police fired cannisters of teargas to disperse the mammoth crowd before Joseph Festus Okunbor was immediately whisked away by the police.

Investigation by our correspondent however revealed that the Police in company of the arrested Joseph Festus Okunbor immediately went after the fleeing Stephen Osaro Omere as it was said that undercover policemen reportedly raided his apartment in Benin City in search of the runaway suspect.

It was said that the undercover policemen during the raid met his girlfriend at home who claimed she had no idea about his secret atrocities.

Also the neighbours reportedly claimed he (Stephen Osaro Omere) relocated to an undisclosed location prior to the arrival of the undercover policemen on Feb 4th 2022 .

Meanwhile, the arrested Joseph Festus Okunbor, who is currently in police custody, is presently awaiting prosecution pending the completion of investigation into the case,while his partner Stephen Osaro Omere who is still on the run, has been declared wanted, a police statement added.

In Nigeria gross violation of the Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act of 2014 attracts a minimum of 14 years imprisonment.
