For almost three years, this unobtrusive businessman has been on a self -imposed exile after he was declared wanted by Nigeria’s anti graft body, economic and financial crimes commission EFCC, ostensibly on allegations that he was involved in a $11.5billion bribe given to officials of the independent National Electoral Commission by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, during the build up to 2015 election. After many legal battles, peters has scored major win against the EFCC with a recent court judgment delivered in his favour
On march, 22, 2018 Justice o a Musa of the federal high court Abuja delivered that the EFCC has no right to declare anybody wanted without obtaining a court warrant. The court then ordered EFCC to remove the “wanted “declaration on peters from its website
It is now believed that with that judgment the Aiteo boss will heave a sigh of relieve. But the question been asked now is how soon will he return home?
