in Nigeria ‎for a 2-day official visit on the 15 and 16 December.

Contained in a statement made available to DailyTimes news‎, the minister will be meeting Minister for Foreign Affairs‎, Geoffrey Onyema and other government functionaries to further strengthen bilateral political and trade relations.
A solar power development agreement for Jigawa state will be amongst the agreements signed and the Minister will also sign two agreements with UNICEF to further their humanitarian and educational work in Borno State to alleviate the situation for children and women in particular.
Other high points of the visit will be a focus on cooperation between both countries in areas of conflict resolution and cooperation in promoting peace, security and stability in the sub region and beyond as well as strengthening activities of the UN.
Norway and Nigeria have a longstanding relations in trade and business, shipping and in fisheries. Norwegian oil companies and supply and subsea companies are also heavily engaged in Nigerian offshore oil and gas development and production. Norway and Nigeria have had diplomatic relations since Nigerian independence.
