Big Win Pledges 2M Jobs, Backs Tinubu’s Prosperity Agenda — Shettima

The Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership is actively reshaping Nigeria into a vibrant and prosperous nation, anchored on strategic investments in healthcare, education, and other critical sectors.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by Big Win Philanthropy at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Shettima expressed confidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration is laying a solid foundation for national transformation.

“In a couple of years to come, I am projecting a vibrant and better Nigerian society. We are investing in healthcare and education — it is a game-changer. With education, within a generation, the son of a pauper can become a celebrated icon,” Shettima stated.

He commended Big Win Philanthropy for aligning with the administration’s goals, particularly through its commitment to support the Nutrition 774 Initiative — a grassroots programme designed to tackle malnutrition at the local level — and create over two million jobs across the country.

The VP emphasized the need for genuine partnerships, not handouts, stating, “Nigeria is not a nation of scarcity; we are a nation defined by potential. We are ready for fruitful engagements with Big Win Philanthropy because you have the deep knowledge, the institutional memory, the goodwill and the context for a partnership.”

CEO of Big Win Philanthropy, Jamie Cooper, lauded the Vice President’s leadership and advocacy on nutrition, noting that the foundation is collaborating with multiple ministries — including Education, Health, and Culture and Creative Economy — to address malnutrition and unlock job opportunities through local production of vaccines and drugs.

“We recognize the Vice President’s passion in combating malnutrition and stunting. Our goal is to work with the administration to create over two million jobs, while driving sustainable healthcare and education initiatives,” Cooper noted.

Also present, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, praised the visit as a show of confidence in the current leadership and affirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with global partners to improve health outcomes in Nigeria.
