Solomon ‘Slesh’ Eshegbe better known as ‘Big Slesh’ has been announced as one of the nominees for the Delta Peoples Alliance Awards (DAPA) 2022. Slesh was nominated in 2 of the award categories, “Rising Artist Of The Year” and “Music Executive Of The Year”.
Delta Peoples Alliance (DPA) is a socio-economic and political pressure group made up of Nigerian residents in the United States, promoting unity and progress of all Nigerians as well as the principles of wealth creation, social justice, accountable political leadership and economic development in the country. The DAPA Awards is an annual award ceremony that celebrates and recognizes works, achievements and accomplishments of Delta State born artistes and Deltans living in the diaspora. The award has 2 categories, voting and non voting categories. While there are Twelve (12) voting categories, there are 5 non voting ones, and 3 presidential honorary awards, making a total of 20 categories. The nominees with the highest number of votes in the voting category will be declared winner after votes are counted. Voting has since commenced and eligible votes will be collated and verified by the award governing committee when voting closes on the 28th of Aug. 2022.
This year’s edition will be held on the 10th of September in Atlanta, GA. where winners will be presented with their award plaques.

Slesh, who is currently resident in Capetown, South Africa, says being recognized by fellow Deltans in diaspora is an honour, and that this nomination is proof that hard work and perseverance pays. He promised to always be a good Ambassador for Delta state and Nigeria. “These nominations are already a win for me, it doesn’t really matter if I finally win the awards or not, just getting this recognition alone is a big win for me”, he stated.
Big Slesh is the founder and CEO of SLESH MUSIC WORLDWIDE, an independent label imprint based in Capetown, South Africa. He is also a singer, song writer, rapper and philanthropist.
