Benue APC Boss Rallies Support for Digital Membership Registry

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, has officially flagged off the party’s electronic membership registration, describing the initiative as the cornerstone for future electoral victories and internal democracy.

Speaking on Saturday in his hometown in Ohimini Local Government Area, Omale urged party faithful to embrace the digital shift, warning that those who ignore the process risk becoming “politically invisible.”

The chairman emphasized that the move from manual to digital registration is not merely a routine administrative task but a strategic effort to consolidate the party’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He noted that a credible database is essential for protecting members’ interests and planning for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia.

“Massive participation in the ongoing exercise will open many ways and opportunities to members,” Omale stated. “It is also a way for us to reelect Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.”

Omale stressed the importance of data in modern politics, arguing that a party without accurate records of its members cannot effectively mobilize or defend its votes.

He pointed out that the new register would be the sole determinant for eligibility in party primaries and appointments.

“In today’s political environment, data is power. A party that does not know its members, cannot protect them, mobilize them or defend their votes.

“E-registration gives us a verified, credible, digital membership register that will determine who votes in party primaries, who is recognized as a member, who qualifies for appointments, and who the party stands with during elections,” he explained.

He issued a stern call to all stakeholders to take ownership of the project, warning that apathy could weaken the party’s structure at both state and federal levels.

“Let me be very clear, if your name is not in the APC E-registration database, you are politically invisible No stakeholder, no leader, no politician, no matter how powerful, can stand outside this process,” Omale declared.

The chairman also relayed the full support of Governor Hyacinth Alia for the exercise, noting that the governor understands the necessity of a “strong, credible, and verifiable membership structure.”

Omale concluded by charging ward and local government leaders to actively supervise the process.

“Whoever controls the membership controls the party. And that control must belong to the APC faithful, not political opportunists, not outsiders, and not infiltrators,” he said.
