Bayelsa APC leaders back Buhari for 2019

For President Muhammadu Buhari, his re-election bid come 2019 is a done deal, that is if the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State are to have their way, as the party have expressed their support for his return, saying his election will show corrupt politicians the exit door.

The APC leaders, including the former acting governor of Bayelsa State, Nestor Binabo; a former House of Representatives member, Dr Stella Dorgu; ex-Reps member, Indiamaowei Bolous; Senator Felix Otiotio; Maj. Andrew Oputa (retd.); Mr. Preye Aganaba; and Chairman, APC, Bayelsa, Joseph Fafi, expressed their support in an open letter to President Buhari.

In the letter, the APC leaders, who said they had decided to work towards Buhari’s victory, said, “We are aware that those who don’t want you back and those who spread hate against you are the very persons Nigerians rose to fight in 2015.

“They are treasury looters, corrupt elements who raped and sodomised this country for their selfish interest. They are afraid that your re-election will send them to jail and silence them politically.

“You have brought stability to the country. Nigeria has regained her lost glory in the comity of nations. With your style of leadership and your sterling qualities, the country is attracting massive foreign investments,” they said, adding that President Buhari has lived up to his campaign promise on anti-corruption and deserves to continue in office.
