Bauchi State Government has received hospital and medical equipment worth millions of US dollars from World Medical Relief, a USA-based health organisation.
The donation includes patient care, nutrition treatment, electronic beds, wheelchairs, and delivery components.
The state commissioner for Health, Dr Sani Mohammed Dambam while receiving the items on behalf of the Bauchi state government, expressed gratitude, saying the equipments would boost the state’s health sector.
According to him, the Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed facilitated the donation during a visit to the organisation last year.
He explained that five containers are expected, with one arrived and others en route from Lagos.
The commissioner said the equipments would be distributed to state specialist hospitals, general hospitals, and primary healthcare centres.
Dambam assured that the equipments won’t be stored, saying “they are for use, not for storing”.
He mentioned that the donation complements the government’s efforts to renovate and equip health facilities across the state.
