Bauchi partners rice mill to reduce over-dependence on federation account for income

Bauchi state government has expressed readiness to collaborate with Jaize bank and a rice mill called ‘Tiamin Rice Mill’ to reduce over-dependence on federation account for income and further get more youths employed, Daily Times gathered. 

The governor stated this, Monday evening when he received in audience, the management of the bank and the rice mill on a courtesy visit in his office, government house. 

He promised to give corporate organisations and investors a level playing ground for the smooth execution of their developmental projects in the state. 

The Governor said the state government will collaborate with Ja’iz Bank and Tiamin Rice Mill in an effort to reduce over-dependence on federation account, raise GDP and provide employment opportunities to teeming unemployed youths in the state.

He observed that the visit came at a time when his administration was looking for synergy with key stakeholders to foster the progress of the state. 

“On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi state, we welcome Ja’iz Bank and Tiamin Rice Mill on this very important courtesy visit. Bauchi is growing, and the changes are real because you are here to bring development to the state”, Bala said. 

He said that the Bauchi state government will continue to support the two organizations to achieve some of its target of reducing poverty and providing employment opportunities to the citizens. 

The governor commended the management of Tiamin Rice Mill for complimenting his government’s efforts of reducing poverty, hunger, and unemployment through donations of food items. 

Governor Mohammed urged corporate organisations and other humanitarian agencies to consider as part of their corporate social responsibility, supporting governments to meet the yearnings and aspirations of citizens.

He informed that as part of his administration’s desire to collaborate with Ja’iz Bank, the state Pilgrims Welfare Board will henceforth use the Bank for hajj operations in the State. 

The Chairman of the multi-billion naira rice milling company, Tiamin Rice Mill, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed solicited the support of the Governor for the speedy commencement of rice production and packaging in the state.

He said Tiamin Rice Mill, is one of the best rice producing company in Nigeria, adding that the company is ready to replicate the successes recorded in its factory in Kano state when it commences operations in Bauchi state.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Ja’iz Bank, Alhaji Hassan Usman said the bank has entered into a partnership with the rice company to contribute to the economic development of the benefitting states.
