The mother of the Bauchi State governor, Hajiya Hauwa Yuguda, popularly known as Goggo, died at the age of 85.
Hajiya Goggo died on Thursday at her residence in Bauchi as a result of a protracted illness.
Governor Isa Yuguda, the senior son of his late mother, described her death as a great loss to the entire family members.
While receiving condolences from sympathisers at Ramat House, Bauchi, Governor Isa Yuguda in a sorrowful mood, described Goggo as a very caring mother to her children and accommodating to humanity.
Yuguda stated that the death of his mother did not come as a surprise in view of the fact that every soul must surely test the bitter pill of death.
Expressing appreciation to the people for their massive turnout at the funeral prayer, Malam Isa Yuguda prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest and her family members the courage to bear the irreparable loss.
Our correspondent gathered that the deputy Chief Imam of the Bauchi Central Mosque, Imam Ahmed Inuwa Jahun, led the funeral prayer for the late Hauwa Yuguda, at the premises of the Bauchi Emir’s palace in the morning with the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu and other dignitaries in attendance.
Late Goggo was later laid to rest at the new Bauchi graveyard at Dungulbi Village, along Bauchi-Gombe road.
She is survived by three children, among whom are, the state governor, Malam Isa Yuguda and the chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Board, who is also the District head of Yuguda, Alhaji Abdullahi Dabo, the Dan Muyi of Bauchi over thirty grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
