Bauchi Gov Hosts Christian community on Christmas homage

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, over the weekend hosted thousands of Christians at the Government House for Christmas homage, led by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Addressing the crowd, the Governor emphasized unity and peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faiths, stating that his administration has worked to ensure every citizen belongs fully and equally.

Mohammed highlighted that religious institutions have served as pillars of communal cohesion and catalysts for progress, noting that their expansion will consolidate peace-building efforts and foster inclusivity.

He stated that Bauchi is celebrated as a model of harmony, with peace rooted in the state’s culture and values.

The Governor who reiterated his administration’s rejection to marginalization and discrimination, emphasized inclusivity as a core principle of governance.

He recalled creating additional emirates and a Chiefdom to meet people’s agitation for self-actualization, citing the Gungzaar of Zaar chiefdom as an example.

According to him, the aim is not only to fulfil political promises but but deepen local governance, enhance cultural identity and strengthen the invaluable role of the traditional institution as custodians of peace, unity and development.
