Baraje tasks sports administrators on talent hunt

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Kawu Baraje has urged stakeholders in the Nigeria’sports sector to revamp it through talent hunting from the grassroots.
Baraje explained that hunting for talents at the grassroots was a practice in the past as a way of overhauling the sector from its present status.
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national Secretary stressed that the Nigeria’s sports sector deserve more attention from all Nigerians, noting that all hands must be on deck to revamp sports from total collapse.
“I think the nation’s sports sector is not doing badly but we must do more.
“We must do more in the area of talent hunting.
“We must devise a scientific means of hunting for talents because if we don’t do it now, we may struggle in the future.
“Those days, administrators go as far as primary school to hunt for talents, we must go back to that era,” Baraje said.
He reiterated his support and commitment to the development of football and badminton pledging to devote more time and energy to participate in sporting activities out of his tight schedule.
Baraje who was a Special Guest of Honour at the Kwara Federation Cup final on Saturday, promised to sponsor a National Badminton Tournament in the State.
