Bala Mohammed vows to strengthen PDP in Delta before 2027 elections

Bala Mohammed, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and governor of Bauchi state, says he will work to strengthen the party’s chances in Delta state ahead of the 2027 general election.
Mohammed gave the assurance when he received a delegation of PDP members from Delta, led by elder statesman Edwin Olley and Michael Tidi, former chairman of Warri South LGA, at the Government House, Bauchi.
According to a statement by Usman Shehu, Bauchi commissioner for information and communication, the governor praised the duo for their long-standing loyalty to the PDP and for resisting the wave of political defections in the state.
He described them as “true party men” and founding members who have contributed to the party’s growth and electoral victories in Delta and across Nigeria.
Mohammed said the PDP remains “the party of the moment” and “the most formidable” in meeting national ideals across all regions, pledging to continue identifying with committed members nationwide.
In their remarks, Olley and Tidi commended Mohammed’s leadership as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, describing him as a rallying pillar for the party’s stability.
They sought his support to reposition the PDP in Delta after the exit of the state governor from the party, noting that Delta has historically been a PDP stronghold.
