Mohammed said the renovation is part of his administration’s effort to upgrade infrastructure across all arms of government, providing a functional and dignified workspace for public officials.

“It is also on record that the Abubakar Umar State Secretariat complex, housing our civil servants, has also been renovated and provided with adequate facilities needed to support the service and improve the output of governance,” he said.

He added that the judiciary has not been left behind, noting the expansion of the high court complex and the ongoing construction of 12 magistrate courts aimed at speeding up the delivery of justice.

According to him, the assembly project reflects his government’s commitment to fairness and balance in strengthening all branches of government.

“The renovation and upgrading of the Bauchi State House of Assembly complex, which groundbreaking we are witnessing today, is the case of equal and just treatment for all the three arms of government which constitute a tripod upon which the government rests,” he said.

“For nearly 20 years, the state assembly complex has not been renovated.”

Additionally, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, stated that the renovation signifies more than just a physical transformation.

He described it as a renewed dedication to transparency, efficiency, and service delivery to the people of Bauchi State.

Suleiman stated that the upgraded facilities will improve working conditions for lawmakers and enhance their ability to fulfil their constitutional duties.
