Babangida promises to revamp Kano Pillars

The returning chairman of Sai Masu Gida has vowed to get the club working again after he replaced the sacked Kabiru Baita
Newly appointed Kano Pillars chairman, Tukur Babangida has pledged to do his best to ensure that Sai Masu Gida return to its envious heights of the past.
The Kano Government on Thursday reconstituted the management board of Pillars in a statement signed by Salihu Tanko Yakassai, the Director General, Media and Communications to governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Reacting to the news of his appointment, Babangida told Goal: “I am grateful for the way my second coming to the club has been appreciated. I want to use this medium to thank those who congratulated me on my appointment as the new chairman of the club.
“I promise to do my best for the uplift of the team. I am not saying that I am the Messiah but with the support of the other members of the board I am certain Pillars can be great again. This is ideal time to start working and not for long speech making.”
Other members of the new management board are Professor Musa Garba Yakasai, Faruk Sani Haladu, Tijani Saleh Minjibir, Sani Lawan, Murtala Alasan Zainawa and Yahaya Idris and they have been charged by Governor Ganduje to work diligently and ensure that the objective of the administration of restoring the glory of the club is achieved.
During Babangida’s first stint as chairman, Pillars won the Nigerian league for the first time in 2008 and the club reached the semi final of the 2009 Caf Champions League on their debut .
