Atiku hails Dr. Odidi over exploits in Pharmaceutical sector

Former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has congratulated renowned scientist and pharmaceutical pacesetter Dr. Isa Odidi on his exploit as the first Nigerian and African to establish a high tech pharmaceutical facility in China.
The former Vice President notes that Dr. Odidi’s achievements in Canada and recently in China are a welcoming addition to the glowing credentials that Nigerian professionals in the Diaspora have built over the time.
Atiku in a statement on Sunday in Abuja singed by his Media aide, Paul Ibe, observed that Nigerian professionals in the Diaspora like Dr. Odidi have earned a reputation for entrepreneurship, hard work and are worthy ambassadors of the country.
He described Smart Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Limited, owned by Odidi as a state of the art pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D plant in China.
“It is cheering news that in spite of our current challenges at home, compatriots in the Diaspora like Dr. Odidi are making the country proud in their respective professions.
“Our compatriots in the Diaspora are showing us the way that a new Nigeria is possible where the wealth of the country will not only come from the natural resource deposits inside our ground but also from the intellectual powers of what we have inside our heads.
“Therefore, our responsibility is to endeavour to make it easier and convenient for the inflow of cutting edge technology to Nigeria, especially encouraging and creating an enabling environment for Nigerians in Diaspora to deploy their skills in Nigeria so that our people can benefit from it through jobs creation, skills transfer and revenue to the country.
“I congratulate Dr. Odidi on his impressive achievements and urge Nigerian professionals at home and in Diaspora to continue to put daring challenges to the frontiers of knowledge because the greatness of our country is in the scope of their intellectual firmament” Atiku maintained.
