Atiku Condemns Burundi Violent Crisis
A former Vice President of Nigeria and Turaki Adamawa, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has condemned the violent crisis in Burundi.
There have been protests since late April over current President Pierre Nkurunziza’s bid for a third term in office.
More than 20 people have been killed during clashes.
On his Twitter account @atiku he wrote: “The violent crisis in #Burundi, fuelled the decision of President Pierre Nkurunziza to stand for a 3rd term, is unfortunate and condemnable.
“Democracy must be guided by the rule of law, and will of citizens respected. One man’s ambition should never be allowed to cause chaos,” he wrote.
